WebIowa Commission on Aging The Iowa Commission on Aging is designated through Iowa Code as the policy making body of the sole state agency responsible for administration of the Older Americans Act. The Commission on Aging consists of eleven members who are appointed by the Iowa Legislature and the governor. WebState Unit on Aging. The State Unit on Aging oversees programs funded by the federal Older Americans Act and State Funding for Senior Services. The unit provides assistance and funding to 16 local Area Agencies on Aging to provide community-based services to seniors age 60 years and older and caregivers.
